About MyHomeAssets!
MyHomeAssets! was designed to do two things: 1) help home owners and renters manage their assets in the event of emergency or catastrophe, and 2) provide insurance companies with a means of leveraging their portfolio of customers and assets. From the beginning, MyHomeAssets! was the first software program designed specifically for the home owner and renter to allow them to catalog and print their home assets.
Initial marketing revealed how helpful the system is to home owners, renters, and insured’s. A 2005 study of 235 users of the MyHomeAssets! program that less than 10 percent could provide any information about their property, such as make, model, and serial number—similar to the national average of 12 percent who could provide police or insurance companies with that data. More shocking still is that a full 89 percent of those who used the program to catalog their belongings, found they were dramatically underinsured.
